1. Preparing the Graphic Sheets

The very first step is to prepare the decal for easy application. Place each sheet on a flat surface with the backing side up. In most case, squeegees will be included with the decal package. If there isn’t one, you can use a regular credit card to press the entire sheet down. This will ensure that all the adhesive transfers to the transfer paper and the decal is ready for application.

2. Preparing the Surface

Ensure that you pick a wall that is smooth and dry. Use a clean cloth to wipe down the wall or chosen surface to make sure that it is dust and dirt free.

3. Plan it Out

With wall graphics, you don’t have second chances! In case, you mess up the positioning of the decals, you will be able to take them down without any trouble at all. However, you will not be able to reuse the decals. So the best thing to do will be to plan the display out in your mind. You can even place the stickers on another flat surface to obtain a basic idea of what the decals will look like once you put them up.

4. Application

At a sharp angle, peel the backing paper off the decal. Once you place it on the surface, use the plastic card to apply firm pressure on the decal. The transfer sheet has to be on the surface facing you. This will ensure that there are no bubbles stuck in the decal.

5. Peel it Off!

Peel the transfer paper off with slow and sure movements. There is a chance that some part of the decal will become peeled off along with the transfer paper. Simply back up, run the credit card along the transfer paper once more to press the decal into the wall surface. Try to peel the tape off again.

After installing the wall decal, you might find a few bubbles trapped under the graphics. Use a thin needle to pop the bubbles.
