Tips For Color Correction With Photoshop

Photoshop lets you correct color of your photos. This is possible with two options: Photo Filters and Auto Color. Using these options is quite easy. After the treatment, your photos will look much better than before.

Let us first see how it can be done with Auto Color feature. You need to go to Adjustment and then choose Auto Color. This will automatically adjust the image color based on highlights, mid tones, and shadows.

If you are not satisfied with the highlights, you should choose Highlights Clip to make necessary adjustments.

Photoshop has another tool called Photo Filters to let you change your photo color. You need to go to Image, Adjustments and then choose Photo Filters. Settings for photo filter will appear in a sort of dialogue box. You will also see a preview box, which will show you how your image will look after you apply certain filters. You can adjust density settings for more effect on the photo.

There is another Hue/Saturation option to change the image color. From the options menu, you can choose Hue/Saturation. Using this option is a piece of cake. All you need to do is move the slider left or right to see the effect on the preview box. The saturation option lets you make the colors of the image darker or lighter. This will make your photo more beautiful.

You may also want to sharpen your photos. For this, all you need to do is choose the relevant option from the Filters. Make sure you can see the preview box, which will help you see the effect of the chosen filter without messing with the original image. Here one thing needs to be kept in mind: images should not be sharpened more than 150% of the image. In the same way, you will not notice any difference unless you increase sharpness by 50%.

Tip: Make sure you create a copy of your original photo before you work on it in Photoshop. This is more important if you are just going to use Photoshop for the first time. You will have an additional copy of the photo in case you end up damaging the one you are working on.

So, you can use these simple guidelines to correct color of your photo. If you still don’t have a clue about how to use Photoshop to adjust color of your photos, you can always hire an image editing service provider.
